Intelligent protection that reduces overheads without compromising the cover
We were asked to assess and replace fire alarm system in St Cuthbert's School, Leicestershire
After consulting our specialist fire alarm partners we recommended an open protocol solution that would provide the correct decibel levels, detection and ease of use for the premises officers whilst still providing maximum cover and autodial to the fire service in the event of an alarm.
This system removes the dependency on specialist suppliers closed systems and reduces the number of engineer call-outs for minor problems.
The installations were scheduled over the summer break to minimise the disruption and to ensure that the downtime of the system was kept to a minimum. By doing this, the overall cost per installation was comparable with replacing a standard fire alarm system.
After the first 6 months, significantly reduced levels of call outs for minor problems reported and ongoing overheads reduced without compromising on the vital protection any fire alarm system needs to provide.
These solutions have enabled St Cuthbert’s to meet their statutory requirements and as a result of the successful installations, Belvoir High School has already commissioned Ralco Solutions with a similar project. Other schools and colleges have also requested an audit of their systems for us to make the appropriate recommendations
